Guest auntiesara Posted December 23, 2004 Share Posted December 23, 2004 Our neighbors Chris and Steve, lost their heart dog, Lucy, a week ago weds to internal bleeding apparently due to liver failure. The vet suspects poisoning, but they didn't have anything like rat poison around the house. She was a Border Collie Spaniel not more than 10 years old. Then they had to put their Chow-mix,Cocoa , to sleep yesterday. She had a strange condition causing a bone in her head to grow. No treatment was possible due to the location. She had been increasingly weak and they had time to say goodbye. They have now adopted a possible Border collie puppy without papers from a pet store that has been in the newspaper due to epidemics and such poor Veterinary care that the vet licensing board has been called in. They couldn't bear to leave the puppy there. The puupy will help them have a big project, but of course they're still in shock. I told them Lucy is helping Cocoa..... Please send special prayers. There are two survivors, Ginger, Cocoa's biological sister, and Lady, an Old English Sheepdog who was the baby of the family up to now.
