Guest kerber
Hi! My vet said we could start weaning our dog off Gabapentin. But I forgot to ask how. Blue is 67 lbs and been on 200mg two times a day since March 1 for post op pain. She's still in splint ...had ligament repair done and unresolved bone chip (until April 17) in another leg. Thanks! Guest fannysmom
I would think the same as a person. Just day by day make it less and less. This drug was wonderful to have in the final months of our last pooch. But we never had to wean him off, it was end of life meds. I don't think exact amounts for weaning are crucial but if you want an exact answer, call the office for a reminder.
XTRAWLD
To my knowledge you don't need to. Its steroids you should be concerned with weaning.
