BauersMom
If you've had him for 5 years and the peeing indoors is a new behavior, I would discuss it with a vet. He could have a UTI, for one. If you've had him for 5 years and the peeing indoors is NOT new, well... you're looking at housebreaking 101. Leash the dog to you and correct him every single time he attempts to mark indoors. But I have a feeling you're looking at option #1. Quote With Buster Bloof (UCME Razorback 89B-51359) and Gingersnap Ginny (92D-59450). Missing Pepper, Berkeley, Ivy, Princess and Bauer at the bridge. JJNg
So he's been marking in your house for over 5 years? Has anything changed that you're just trying to address it now? If the behavior hasn't changed/gotten worse, then he's just never been properly housetrained. If you're committed to fixing this issue now, then I'd agree with BauersMom about going back to basic housetraining. Constant supervision or management (ie. crate) to prevent or catch all acts of marking, and take him outside and praise/reward every time he urinates outside. Guest Swifthounds
nope, nothing new. great racer. figure I just have an alpha Nope. The behavior has nothing to do with being alpha. You have a dog that doesn't understand the basic rules of living in a home or wasn't properly house trained.
