Location Guarding?

Recommended Posts

I've been following T&B for over a year now (since we've got our first grey) and it just crossed my mind that I don't think I've ever read anything about anybody's grey guarding their owner's sofa from the owner. There seems to be the occasional issue with food guarding, or maybe even toys, but not furniture/beds. I wonder whether that is because they're more often invited by their adoring owners to sleep on furniture than other breeds? Or maybe I just have that wrong and there indeed is some location guarding going on with some. Anyway, any thoughts?

There have been many "my greyhound growled/snapped at me/DBF/DD/etc " threads on this forum where it is a greyhound new to a home, on the human furniture, and being petted.

In my experience it is fairly common for greys new to a home to get snarky over new found comforts such as human furniture and dog beds. Almost all that do are quickly and easily trained to share by removing the privilege.

I stand corrected, thanks!
