Guest Grhndad Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 There was an interesting article in this mornings newspaper on Heartworms. The article is titled "Heartworms resistant ot medications?" Appearently there has been a number of dogs in the Mississippi delta that have contracted heartworms while on monthly meds. Here is a link to the article. My link Quote
Shaysmom Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 (edited) That is a bit worrisome. Hopefully, it will prove to be unfounded. Edited April 24, 2010 by Shaysmom Quote
Guest eaglflyt Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 I hope this isn't truly a resistance problem. I know with horses we've rotated deworming medications routinely to prevent resistance, which can occur. However, common equine parasitic worms have a different life cycle than canine heartworms.
