Guest jharr
I suspect that Boris is allergic to cow. He gets the itchy eyes whenever he gets a rawhide. So I am wondering if a leather collar would also be problematic for him. Has anyone had a hound react to beef products?
Guest mcsheltie
We have one who is allergic to beef & chicken and his collar never bothered him. His first reaction to eating either is itchy ears and then skin, not diarrhea. There is a good chance he is having problems with whatever chemical is used in the rawhide. Especially problematic if they are made in China. Try an all natural bully stick from a good company here in the US. There are a couple who are members of this forum. Guest Energy11
Yes, the rawhide is pretty nasty, and has lots of chemicals in it. It can also get caught/stuck in the intestional tract. Not a good thing . Bully sticks, sweet potato chews, RAW marrow bones, elk or deer antlers, are all good, safe chews. I'd eliminate the rawhide, and see if the allergies improve. Good Luck! Guest mcsheltie
If he can tolerate a bully stick that you know has no chemicals, then you don't have a problem with beef.
