Guest anneh
My little 7yo non epi that I adopted last fall has had two incidences of extreme high fever (several months apart) for which no specialist has been able to find an answer, each time she comes thru it and is back to normal. The first time she was treated with doxy but just for 10 days as all TBD tests that were run came back normal plus she shows no symptoms of any TBD. The last time it happened they ran further blood cultures but all negative. Neither time were there any other symptoms but high fever. Yesterday she couldn't get up and walk in the morning but eventually hobbled out to potty and as the day went on she became 100% normal and was even acting her perky self. However in the evening I ran her to a local vet that I use and she said she felt a "pop" in her hip but otherwise she seemed to be perfectly ok. This morning she screamed when I woke up and petted her near that hip and so far this morning has not been able to walk. She has an elevated temp 104. I have a call in to my vet that usually treats her and of course will see her asap BUT just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and can shed any light on the possibilities. I am beside myself with worry and fear for her, she is so precious and deserves better than this. I traced her history at the shelter and found no report of anything similar in her past, she had been owned by one person for many years and only report was that she had allergies, she also spent a long time in the shelter with no fever episodes, believe me they are bad enough that she would have either died or they would have made a note of it. Thanks for any help, I love her so much. anneh
