Guest 2Brindles
Over the past couple of days I have noticed Ronan licking his front paw more than usual. This morning I see that near (not on) his left front paw pads he has a raised red sore. DH and I put Neosporin on it, but I was wondering how such a lesion could appear in the first place, and if I should take him to see the vet. He has no visible problems walking, nor does he act as if he is in pain when I touch it. It feels as if it is callused or scabbed over. Any thoughts? Jiffer
Depending on how inflammed it is, I would soak his paw in epsom salts at least daily and if it doesn't go away or settle in a couple of days, take him into the vet. He may have just punctured or cut himself, but there may be a foreign body in there (hence the soaking). Guest 2Brindles
Thanks! After DH gets home tonight we'll try that. How long should his paw be soaked at a time?
