Sending love to you and your girlie. Will keep watching for updates.

How frightening! Poor beautiful girlie. I hope whatever it is, is minor and passes quickly.

I'm so glad he's going to be okay. How frightening!

Passion...

Well, let's face it folks, a lot of us are going to be pooping
our pants eventually.
I just hope we've got the patience of someone that is willing to care
for us and overlook it like Mork's mom is doing.
As long as he's happy and loving life, what the heck is a little poop? !!!...
Agreed, 100%
Sounds like you've already received the reassurance you need, but I do also agree with those who say the incontinence due to LS is unlikely to be, in itself, indicative of increased pain.
Thank you for being so patient with your sweet oldster. We should all be so lucky to have someone give us the loving care we need in our senior years. Give that sweet ol' boy-o a gentle smooch for me, please.

Jet
in Remembrance
My heart goes out to you and Jeff, Trudy. I loved your little Jetterbug so much. I am so glad I got to meet her a couple of times. And I am envious of all the time you were blessed with together, throughout so many amazing adventures. She was, and forever shall be, beyond adorable.

Wow! Well the weight thing is a relief! I found myself wondering how the heck one doesn't notice a 15 pound loss!
I hope this other stuff is all minor. -
Beautiful, beautiful boy. I am so very sorry for your loss, Jey.

Just seeing this now. I wish I had great advice, but alas...
Any chance you're willing to try syringe-feeding for a while? I've done that with good success in the past. You can soak the kibble until soft, then liquefy in a food processor with warm water (adding in canned as well if you wish), until it's very smooth and liquidy enough for an oral syringe. The dogs I've done this with, have never put up a fuss about it, they just started swallowing as I slowly plunged the syringeful of food into their mouths.

that a few new additions to his routine will help cheer him up.

No, almost two weeks, but still a big gain.
Aims, I will tell Craig you said we need to try fostering whenever I 'wonder aloud' about anything dog related he says 'what does Aimee say' so maybe your expertise will sway him. I have looked into doggie daycare but there aren't any in my City that I can find just boarding kennel places, which isn't stimulating at all.
Stella preferred the company of people and being an only dog, but Jeffy is much more k9 sociable, probably your fault, your pack is his 'gold standard'.
Aw, I'm really flattered. I'm happy to put the screws to Craig for you if need be.

He gained five pounds in a week? Wow!
Yes, it is certainly possible that he could be depressed/understimulated if he spends a lot of time all alone at home. Some dogs do fine alone, and others really crave company. And yes, that can lead to inappetence which leads to weight loss. Presuming that you've already been through the wringer with blood tests and whatnot with your vet to ensure there's nothing more nefarious going on, of course.
I know you've been trying to plant the seed with your family about a second dog. If you really think it's canine company that Jeffy needs, would it be possible to babysit your in-laws' dog for a while at your place? Just to sort of test the theory that it's company that Jeffy needs? Or maybe even trying a dog-walker mid-day to add some stimulation to his day... ?

Looks like a dental abscess. Time to go to the vet. Probably antibiotics first, followed by a dental and probable extraction. Poor guy.

The first greyhound I lost, Sissy, succumbed to T-cell Lymphoma. She went from being seemingly perfectly healthy, to dead within two weeks. I have no insight. I really don't even have much hindsight. Sometimes you just don't get lucky, no matter how hard you try or wish... Sometimes the cancer just rolls through too hard and fast to do anything about it. Medicine is never a perfect science. It's guessing and trial and error. Sadly it's the same for people as it is for animals. It's heartbreaking and enraging.

Sonofabeetch, Jay. I am so so sorry. How utterly horrible.

Oh Judy, I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart hurts for you.
-
Wow, that really is wonderful news! I hope he's back up and bouncing around in no time!
-
Wonderful news! Now please make sure to update when you know what *is* going on with him (meaning the fibro-whatchamacallit).

Pinky seems to be doing even better today, she is more alert and has hopped up on the couch and my bed as usual. I knew she was feeling better when she came trotting into the kitchen at the sound of a crinkling bag.
Very happy to hear she's feeling better!

Poor boy-o. Gentle smooches for him.
-
Terrifying. Keeping your beautiful boy in my thoughts, Kar.
-
Yikes, poor girly.
-
I understand. He worked magic for Alimony. I hope he can do the same for Lucky.
But if you feel panicky, go to the U.
-
Kari, can you have your vet send Lucky's records to the U of M if you need to have emergency surgery done there instead of waiting for your vet to be available? How scary.

I understand that horrible panicky helpless feeling so well, as you know, Jen. I wish I could be there for you now the way you were for me last year. Know that you and your beautiful little Faitholet are on my mind.
