  3. Hey all, just wanted to give you a little update. I put down some low pile rugs and my husband has done great one them. =) We still don't have a grey because we still need to get some things settled, but hopefully one day.
  4. True greysmom. I worry too much lol ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
  5. This is probably a dumb question , but, do Galgos and Italian Greyhounds have floor issues also?

  7. thank you cleptogrey. I appreciate the ideas and the husband I'm realizing this more and more, that my husband comes first. which should've been obvious in the first place. oops. (sorry honey xo)

  10. So, my husband has Parkinson's Disease and I've been told to remove all rugs. I'm going to visit a Greyhound on Saturday and possibly adopt. The kennel manager told me I need to lay rugs down for the grey (I've read this also) since we have hardwood floors. Is this usually the case with greys? Because I'm scared to take the chance that my husband might trip or worse, fall, over the rugs. ๐Ÿฅบ
  11. Thanks lbass!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  12. Not sure I'm posting this in the correct spot, but I was wondering what size crate would be best to get for a greyhound we haven't chosen yet lol
  13. Thanks! We've got a 48" crate that a friend gave us so yay for that 48" should big enough for most greys I think. Am I right about that? Lots of beds ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  14. Oh, awesome! I will, thank you! And thanks for writing those
  15. Hi peeps =) So, still getting (or trying to get) things ready for a grey. I'm wondering what you all think should be necessaries to have when I first get him/her. I read an article on a website about what to get, so I can go by that also, but thought I'd see what you guys had to say. Thanks!!
  16. Thanks for input and links greysmom!! You guys are right. I don't think I'll give up on our Irish friends I'll apply and wait patiently .
  17. Thank you so much BatterseaBrindl!
  18. Thank you macoduck. I really appreciate your encouragement to wait for an Irish hound. I don't mind waiting for one either. I've been reading that glagos need a bit more exercise too. I'm not up for that unfortunately haha. And I don't mind seniors either. Senior dogs are wonderful. Boy you sure have had a lot of dogs!!
  19. Hi everyone. I'm new here, but not new to greyhounds. I have loved them since I first heard of them when I was 19 or so Haha, that looks like that greyhound is farting hearts lol..anyyyyway, we are considering bringing a grey into our home. The place I've been working with is Fast Friends in NH. They have Irish Greys and Galgos and other sighthounds. They suggested a galgo because we have a cat. And I guess the Irish greys are very keen and usually not good with cats. They don't have any US hounds, but I am looking around. So what I'm getting at is, does anyone know just how much more energy a galgo has. We want a chill dog, good with cats and doesn't bark or jump. I hear galgos have more energy and love to jump (not necessarily on people, but outside anyway) and are more intelligent than greys (?). A woman said her galgo learned to open her cabinets and draws . What opinions do you all have about galgos vs greyhounds? Irish ps: I just heard back from a place in Mass and they also have all Irish. Galgos really need adoption because they are treated so badly in Spain. I would love to adopt one, but I don't want to get in over my head.
