Hello.
Our greyhound Cleo is experiencing some bouts of extreme panting and/or what seems to be stomach spasms. She is panting and her whole body is shaking when these happen. They have been strong enough to wake us up at night if she's sleeping in our bed.
We have taken her to multiple vets/emergency rooms and still aren't sure what's causing this. She's had x-rays of her abdomen and heart - all of which look normal. We wanted to do an ultrasound but that particular vet would not allow us in and she would not allow them to handle her without us.
Her protein levels have increased in the past 6 months and she is now taking 20 mg of baby aspirin and 15 mg of Enalapril. We've changed her food to Royal Canid Renal Support.
We are now stumped and our vet hasn't come up with an exact issue for the extreme panting. She is fine for 2, 3, 4 days then has an attack - typically starting at night. Her belly has grows pinker during this time.
Would appreciate any similar advice or help.
