@greysmom He was symptomatic with weight gain and poor coat. The weight gain was gradual. I tried cutting back on food/treats and increasing exercise.....no change. His coat has never been great with lots of dandruff no matter what I did. I'm meeting with the vet next week to discuss next steps. This is just puzzling to me and the vet. Oh well.

I have a male 7 year old greyhound that was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Knowing that greyhounds run on the low end we did a follow up TSH to verify so I feel the diagnosis is accurate. Here's my problem/question. Opie was prescribed .05 Thyroid-Tabs twice a day. After about a week I noticed his appetite was off. We did a blood recheck and it came back at 1.3. After that recheck we upped the dose to .75 twice a day and he completely stopped eating. Follow up blood work was all within normal limits. We pulled him off the Thyro-tabs and appetite returned to normal within 24 hours. Has anyone had this particular experience with their hounds and thyro-tabs? Thanks in advance.
