  1. Thanks for the replies. I did put some of her pee on the original grass, no luck. I had new grass delivered today so I'll try again. I wonder doing that and *not* taking her downstairs will work, any thoughts?
  2. Thanks for your reply, she's okay with the dogs generally but I do make sure I keep the growly yapping ones away, and we leave the area. I do praise her when she pees, my problem is getting her to start peeing on the grass on my balcony, rather thank going outside each time! It turns a 3 second pee into An Event
  3. Hello, I've been avidly reading these posts and there's so much great knowledge - thanks you! We live in an apartment and this means pee / poo breaks are downstairs and outside. I've had my 6 year old girl for 6 weeks now, and she freezes on walks and now on the pee breaks. It's unsurprising, as it's unfamiliar, there's a lot of activity etc. There's a huge courtyard in the centre of our 4 apartment buildings that I now take her to, to minimise noise and sensory overload, and on the whole it's working okay. Trouble is, there's several owners who use this area and their small dogs are unleashed, and run up to my dog. She's not aggressive towards them but obviously doesn't like unleashed dogs in her face and sniffing her bum. The owners of these dogs are useless. I'd like the pee breaks to be quick and stress-free, so we can make an actual walk enjoyable and work on the freezing. So - the plan is to have her pee breaks on the balcony, and I have a fresh-grass patch that's delivered regularly. So far she's shown no interest in this, and I guess she'd rather pee / poo away from her living areas. I put her lead on and take her there each pee break but to no avail. So we just go downstairs. Any tips or suggestions? Do I *not* take her downstairs and hope she uses it? She knows it's a place to pee, as I put some of her pee on it that I wiped up downstairs. Thanks!
