Both of mine were clean when I got them, but they also lived in foster homes for a few weeks prior to me getting them so I don't really know. Rosie had been hospitalized for heat stroke when the hauler transporting her and others from Plainfield was stuck in traffic with no a/c.

Oh Tami...as hard as it is to see our kids feel that kind of pain, we can take real comfort in knowing they are so connected to their emotions. What a bittersweet story, and what a beautiful photo of Joe.

I'm so sorry!!! My Rosie also experienced heat stroke during her transport from the track, so your story really touched my heart. From what I've read, in the same ways that greys are sensitive to cold, they are sensitive to heat and are therefore much more susceptible to heat stroke than other breeds. Of course none of that matters now...it was NOT your fault...hugs to you.
