I have one greyhound and have had her for two and half years. I work full time and am out of the house from around 8am - 6pm. She is totally fine with it.

Welcome from a former Calgarian (who misses it greatly) living in Massachusetts. It's neat to see greyhounds are up there. I never saw one when I was there.
-
Here in Boston, Walgreens has it.

Oh Robin, my heart sank and my stomach fell when I saw this. I know you've been doing all you could for her and I guess it was time. We'll miss her like crazy. She was very very special. Lima will miss her mentor. I'll be thinking of you and Phene.

Lima Bean and I are sending good thoughts to you and Loca. Lima is looking forward to further advice from Loca on how to get to the good stuff on top of the refrigerator once Loca feels better.
-
Loca is completely back to normal. she was playing this morning and her appetite has been good. however, she does seem more concerned with what's in Phene's food dish than what's in her dish. that is new.
she thinks phene has the peanuts

North Shore Greyhound Meetup Group
The first couple meetups were supposed to be in Salem. Looks the next one is in Lynn and then in Saugus. I haven't gone yet, but I'm going to try. We'd definitely love to see Dunkin' again!
-
Hi Dunkin, Emily and Paxton. We remember you guys (GW!) . By the way, did you know someone is trying to starting a greyhound meetup group thing up in Salem?
Rally and Lima Bean.

We are definitely thinking of Loca and you and sending our support! It's good she's at the vet, they'll take good care of her.

Hello from Massachusetts . Welcome!

Congratulations! What a good looking guy. One thing to keep in mind, because he's so fresh off the track, he may be particularly whiny and dependent on you. Right now, everything is a confusing (and potentially scary) blur, and you are the only thing he probably trusts right now. The best thing is to be patient and be consistent so that he can figure out how things work. The more structure the better. And your BF is right, be firm too. You don't want him to become *too* dependent on you too quickly, he needs to build his own self-confidence which can be tougher if he's getting all of his comfort from you.
This is a really exciting, challenging, and rewarding time. Enjoy it! And keep us all posted .

Oh, I'm very sorry to hear this. That was a wonderful tribute.

Glad to hear all is well, even better that he's such a great dog! For future reference, I've found that searching this board yields a lot of good info too, especially for figuring out what to do when your dog gets into something he/she shouldn't have gotten into (speaking from personal experience)!

It is usually the BUN/Creatinine which are kidney function tests. They are higher than normal in GHs because of their muscle mass. The red blood cell count is also normally higher than most dogs.
Here is a link to a great explanation about GH bloodwork...
And here are some actual values that you can compare... (from the same site noted above).

Congratulations! He looks great and he looks happy and excited to be in his new home .

Hi. Can someone please help me get this siggy tag below the correct size so I can post it to my gallery and use it as a siggy? I think it's too tall. Thank you so much.
How does this look? Getting it to the right height actually shrinks the whole thing a good amount.

Your story of Penny's last day was beautiful and gave me a lump in my throat. She was really loved. So sorry to hear about this and Lima and I are glad we got to meet her.

Oh wow... that's a really touching description of her last day. She clearly was loved.

Sounds like you have things under control, but for future reference, EMT gel works well too.
