  1. I know what you are saying mel, its quite possible, why only last saturday i picked up six beer bottles, near the car park at shearbarn, the damage it causes, where they can`t be bothered to put them in the bin :angryfire. That said peps doing ok the vet decided not to strap the wound, given peps track record with sutures, just a plaster type dressing, and to date, pep has not had a nibble at it :goodluck

  2. Hi all ,Could you good folks on greytalk spare pepper some good thoughts and prayers please, I took pepper for his normal walk this morning, pep was his normal self enjoying his walk, upon the east hill,as we often do,when he disappeared, only for a couple of minuets, he seemed ok when he came back, but when i looked at his front right leg i could see a nasty gash on the outside just above the stopper pad, the wound was about three inches long ,by three quater,so another trip to the vets, was required, the vet said its a nasty wound ,and some of the skin/flesh is missing :(

so pep was given a pre med straight away ,and is now recovering from the anaesthetic, after having eight sutures, and we go back in three das for a dressing change. there`s never a dull moment with this boy.

  3. Pepper had the exact same toe amputated you are talking about 3rd front left, some 9 months ago,it took about 3 months for pep to get back to "normal" .he is a very active dog and is back to his old self doing just fine minus a toe, pep lost his toe due to a reacurring interdigital cyst, and has made a full recovery,so it seems they can cope perfectly well , but there are probably some that find it difficult, hope this is of some help.

  4. Do ya'll have McDonald's? Get him a couple of those...tripe is good. Ice cream! Tuna...catfood!!! I couldn't get Dear to eat regular food, so I'd mix canned catfood in his kibble & he'd eat that. He'll be doing good in no time.

Tell Buster to always make sure the door is unlocked, ya never know when aunt Hil is going to sneak up & get both of them...and I might take that daughter chick of yours so someone can help take care of all my pups. hehehe

Was that you tip toeing around last night hil? :lol .I tell you, if you take the two boys and the daughter chick, you may as well take the other daughter chick :lol ,and their parents as well,we come as a job lot :lol

  8. Hi Peter, So sorry to hear about Pepper's accident. Glad to hear that he is doing okay, sending best wishes to him and you all from me and Sadi and also from Ben and his Puppers....Get well soon Pep.

btw. Don't beat yourself up Peter, accidents happen and if there is anything I can do you know where I am.

Thanks ,mel. i will keep updating,at the moment we are keeping a watchful eye on pep, he is bright ,but resting i shall be bathing the wounds shortly. the car did`nt stop, people say pep was going hell for leather .i am still angry with me, idiot stupid irresponsible ,fool.

  9. tHANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR KIND THOUGHTS. we went to the vets 3.pm peppers still very sore the vet is satisfied that all the damage is superficial, cuts and grazes on legs back, and a very nasty one on peps tail, the vet was concerned that it might be broken, but on closer inspection he thinks notso fingers crossed

pep got away fairly lightly, pep has taken a little food and water todayand seems bright .he is on metacam and noroclav for the next ten days and

plenty of bed rest. the wound on the tail concerns us most, the vet says he could not possibly stitch but to bathe the wounds

thanks again for all of your prayers and kind thoughts.

  10. Could ask the kind folk on greytalk for some kind thoughts and healing prayers please,as my boy pepper as been in an accident with a car.i am hating myself at the present time for walking pep for letting pep off leash, and for puttin my boy through so much pain.we went for our evening walk upon the east hill as we allways do it started to rain so we headed back ,there was a big clap of thunder, pep got spooked and bolted,he was not stopping for anything :weep ,as i was running down the steps i was fearing the worst,by the time i got to the maine road pepper was sitting at a bench outside the a pub with a crowd of people around him,we rushed pep to the vets, the vets examined him and we think at the moment its just lots of bruising cuts and abrasions, the vet gave painkillers anti biotic antinflamatory,we take pep back tomorrow. at the moment he is resting, and i am beside myself, and feeling dreadful and hating and kicking myself.

  11. That's good to hear Peter....I would have thought you would have known better by now not to let the burglars near your chocolates ;)

btw. Gwen and the pack send all the best. :)

they were my partners chocolates, you see when someone is a bit poorly you give choccies or something to cheer them up,i suppose being as pepper did not recieve any goodies he thought he would help himself
