Thyroid Cancer

I don't know about hypoparathyroidism in dogs, but as a human, I have that condition. I take massive daily supplements of Vit D, magnesium and calcium. I have my blood tested about every 6 months to make sure the levels of all three are in normal range. Stress seems to just eat my vit D, magnesium and calcium up and I can almost always tell when my levels will test below normal. Of course, your girlie can't talk so she can't tell you when she's feeling bad. Maybe someone else on GT knows about vit d and mag levels for a dog, but if not, it might be a good idea to ask your vet if dogs can be affected by low levels of vit d, magn and calcium. Those three are like a holy trinity, the way they have to work together.
