Guest Sabine
I am sorry for your loss and feel for all of you who lost your beloved friends. It is nearly unbearable to say goodbye and I don't want to think about the time when I have to say goodbye to our babies. Years ago a compassionate Vet send me the following poem which has been displayed in our home ever since. Every time memories and longing and pain come back, I look at the poem and it helps so very much. I hope it helps you too. Please excuse the lengthy reply. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you wake in the morning hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die! ********************************* Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am the song that will never end. I am the love of family and friend. I am the child who has come to rest In the arms of the Father who knows him best. When you see the sunset fair, I am the scented evening air. I am the joy of a task well done. I am the glow of the setting sun. Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there, I did not die! ~ Author Unknown ~ All the best and for all of our passed away friends: Enjoy the pleasures by the rainbow bridge! You will never be forgotten.
Guest seniorhoundlover
I am so sorry for your loss. Bless you for loving one of the charmers - the older dudes. He looks just like our Highland. Maybe they are running together at the Bridge.
