Thanksgiving Time

by Anonymous

When all the leaves are off the boughs,
And nuts and apples gathered in,
And cornstalks waiting for the cows,
And pumpkins safe in barn and bin,
Then Mother says, "My children dear,
The fields are brown, and autumn flies;
Thanksgiving Day is very near,
And we must make thanksgiving pies!"

The sky is full of clouds more offen now, and we are getting rainings every week.  The tempachoors are getting colder and colder, and every houndie is looking forward to napping with a warm blankie and sleeping in cuddly jimjams!!  We've had some human losses and some houndie losses, but with the support of all our Friendlies, we will all get through this challenging time.  November just seems to be a month of dreariness, but we look forward to happier times ahead.

Remember the Houndie Rules:

1 - No see, no sky, no pee

And the important one for winter:

2 -  If you see (or are standing in) snow, let it go!!

And the Humin Rules:

1 - No politicking ever!!!!  :shakefinger

We celebrate our Friendlies joys and we support them when they're sad.  Wishings for healing riteawaykwik for any hoomin or houndie that needs it.  We are there for our Friendlies whatever the problem and however we can help.

Welcomings to all our Lurkers, Club Members, New Posters, and any body else that has something to contribute to the fun!

Friendlies Fru Fik & Fin!!

Later Gaters!!

Looks like we have a fairly good chance of snow later this week. 😱 Guess I'd better get at the remaining leaves riteawaykwik.

Thanks for the new Club, Chris!

Earl grey tea (yum!) made me think of my knitted greyhound, Earl Greyhound, which made me remember I just got the knitted greyhound pattern (the owner of the pattern is retiring and giving away all the patterns for free) which made me think of the Project Linus Christmas gift exchange.  I was going to make a quilted totebag but now I'm thinking of a knitted Christmas wreath. (The party is on December 4 so there's plenty of time to display the wreath.) :dunno

Safe travels to Carol Ann!

That’s a might fine raccoon coat, Wiki :)      I have yet to make Dory hr news sweaters  :shakefinger

And that Day Bed looks great!  Got built-in dog beds :)

But how is it possible that Chris has never, ever had real true Maple Syrup :crazy     Enjoy!

I will be off to have another lesson with Old-Coach Shelley today.  We did lots of walking squares work, utilizing turns on the haunches. Tried some in the trot.  Hard on the brain … for both Patty and I!   Shelley was happy to see TheWidge again and he was very good for his kidlet.  Even the two littlest kidlets and their old ponies got a lesson.  So stinkin’ cute!

Throwing together a Shepherds Pie so supper will be ready when I get home :)

:wave Nifty new beds, new quilts, real maple syrup, stinky striped kitties, all sorts of good stuff.

Dreary cloudy Sunday here, but not too cold or windy.

I knocked the lappertopper off the tray table yesterday and now the keys are sticking.  :crazy

The hospital has been shorthanded for the last few weeks; it was really bad yesterday.  I didn't get my 9 o'clock morning meds until 4 o'clock in the afternoon.  Then I got my 8:30 evening meds at 11 o'clock.  That messed my system up.  About midnight I got dizzy and just didn't feel right.  My BP had spiked, my oxygen sat level had plummeted and I felt anxious.  The NP knew what to do and soon I felt better and was able to go to sleep. Still feel a little ragged this morning but the meds are back on schedule.  I hope that helps.

Been watching the lady who was admitted on Friday pacing up and down the hall past my door.  She does that all day long.  She doesn't know that she's in a hospital, thinks she's at work and that her parents are coming to pick her up for dinner.  I don't want her to latch onto me and follow me around like she does the CNAs.  They take her back to her room and she comes right back out to follow them around.  Her family loves her but they can't handle her.  She looks like a recovering meth user.

Also been talking to people who don't know how to use 'me' and 'I' in a sentence.  It's so simple!  Just break the sentence down and use the word that will stand alone.

That's all of my rants for this morning.  Since I got about 5 hours sleep last night maybe a nap will improve my outlook.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Hello my Friendlies!!

Just kinda drippy rite now, but some rainings will move in later this affernoon.  Then we get showerings.  But starting Toozday one of those atmosfeerikal rivers is sposed to be hitting us head on and we'll get really hammered with the rainings for a couppla days.  Those won't be fun at all!!

Miss Noo Carol, that's how my Daddy was all the last week he was here.  Just up and walking baknforthnbaknforth and he couldn't sleep - even tho he was so tired - and couldn't even sit down for longer than, like, a few minits before he'd be bak at it.  :(  And Momma doesn't care what the experts say - she thinks naps are awesome whenever you need one!!  :thumbs-up

Miss Lizabeth that's really nice blankie!!  Is it gonna get donated or are you gonna gift it to somebody??  She also says good luck today with your friendly.  :kiss2

Mister Nate, me and Momma looked forEVER for a pome for this Club and it was really hard cause all the pomes about November are really depressing!!!  :eek  Or really silly.  This one seemed to be OK, plus also, it menshuns PIE!!  :chow

Tho *I* prefer Miss Jan's treats!!  ;)  :chow   I know it's hard to beleeve, but Momma was raised on Log Cabin sirrup and that's what she always buys, even tho it's really sirrup flavored sugar water!!!!  :lol    She says it's possible she's had the real stuff in, like, a restrant or something, but she never knowed it.  She's gonna make some more waffles this morning so she can give it a try!!

Mam, we're glad you and your old coach had a good time together and that Mister Widget Ponee did good too!!

Oh yeah.  Momma says she's not gonna use the trundly thing for her bed cause she doesn't have room for it to slide out anywheres!!!  She *mite* set it up on its own for anuther dog bed if she can figger out how to jigger it into the furnichoor layout.   She woulda preferred to buy one without the trundly thing but couldn't find one she liked.  :dunno

Miss RE Carol gotted to meet a brown skunk!!!  :eek  I think those are some kinda mootayshun or something like that.  But maybe not.  There's, like, 13 different speesees of skunks around the world.  We even gots a spotted one that's native to Oreegun callt a Spotted Skunk (duh!).  Our fall so far has been kinda dry too, but not so much anymore affer today!!

Now that she knows what's gonna replace the hospital bed Momma is planning and skeeming about how to move the furnichoor around to be more funkshunal.  And more what she wants.  She is kinda regretting buying so many new elektronicals tho, cause now she doesn't need em for streaming the teevee or nuthing.  Anybody need a mostly new Samsung tablit??  Cause she gots two.  <_<   And now she doesn't need the huge 17 inch screen lappertopper anymore, but she'll be stukk with it for at leest a few years.  :dunno

And Momma thinks Flizzie is finally reakting to all the upheaving cause she's getting kinda retisent about eating her foods ( :youcrazy).  And she seems kinda too qwiet and depressured.  But Momma will get her fixed up riteawaykwik, I bet.

The yard has been fun to sniffsniffsniff but it's gots lotsa big stikks and stuff so you gotta be careful walking and running around.  They did manage to cover most of the muddy parts so we don't gotta get our feets baby wiped when we come in.

Somebody asked about the "chip drop" thing we got.  I don't know if you all got it in other parts of the world.  We can sign up throo our lektrical compny.  And the tree doods who do work all around the area - separate commershal compnies, and the ones that work for the lektrical compny - can look and see who wants a load of chips near where they're chopping trees down, and take em and dump em for free in their driveway or street or wherever.  The compnies get rid of their chippings for free, the peeples get to have em for free, and the chippings stay outta the landfill or yard debree places.  But the peeples don't get to specify what kind of chippings or how much they get - that's the biggest downside - and they gotta spread em theirownselfs.  So the load we got - that big pile in the picher I showed you - was a pretty small amount.  A ushual load is twice (or more) than that.  And our yard doods didn't have enuff to spread over our whole yard, so we gotta get anuther chipping load, which will probly be too big!!!

Anyway.  Nuthing much going on around here today for sure.  Momma mite box up some stuff.  Or do lawndries.  Flizzie needs a qwiet day, I think, with lotsa pettings from Momma.  And maybe a couppla peanut butter treats!!  ;)

Wishings for a saintly Sunnyday for all my Friendlies!!

BYE-EEE!!!

Wow, I'm on the first page!  That never happens.  I was going to post last night, but decided to wait.  Thanks for the glasses advice---I sure hope everyone is right, and they will correct things.  I've really lost faith in Walmart, though (they'd had to re-make both regular and sunglasses before as well).  Ducky, I will never use them again either.  I was attracted by the huge number of frames I liked, and the lower cost.  It's going to be a while till I can get back there.  Good thing I can still wear the ones from Warby Parker, who did a great job. The only woman I trust at Walmart is off on Mondays, and I can't get  there after tomorrow.  It's on the other side of town, and  I start my 10 day live in with Felix and Iola on Wednesday.  It's a while to not be home, but they are close, and I can come home every day for a while, probably twice a day.  I also have 2 more clients who are close that I'll be doing visits for, so I'll be busy.

On Thanksgiving, we're going to go to one of the really nice restaurants at the Casino.  I don't want to be away from Felix and Iola for too long, so we're skipping my brother's again.  The Casino is only about 2 miles away, there is free parking, and Mary and her sister-in-law are going.  I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant on Thanksgiving, and am looking forward to it.

Carol, I would be upset about the situation where you are as well.  You should definitely NOT be sharing a bathroom with a man!  And the woman wandering the halls. :(  And being so short staffed that it is causing medical emergencies is dangerous!  I hope you can go home soon.  :grouphug

Chris, that daybed is great!  Too bad you don't have room to use it for the girls to sleep next to you.  OMD, that little fox is adorable.  :beatheart  I'm so glad she will be safe.  Plusalso, you do need to get your new glasses, you'll feel so much better.  Poor Flizzie...so many changes for all of you.  I hope she can feel secure in her new routine soon.

Kathy, I'm so sorry Jim is having such a rough time.  Yes, maybe the anti-anxiety meds would help.  The playgroup sounded like a fun one.

Poor Howie and his belly band troubles.  :kiss2

OMD, Lucy,  that Rx mix-up was terrible---it's a wonder you didn't fall down!

Wiki, we looooove your coat!

And we loooove your socks, Halise!

Safe and fun cruise, Carol Ann and Dan!

Jan, what a lovely gift to Chris.  :heart

Reel England Carol is selling poppies!  And I've never seen a brown skunk!

Elizabeth, that quilt is so lovely.  I feel that you are very empathetic; you will know how to talk to your friend.  I think it's been helpful to Mary for me to have stayed with her so much.  And she told me that she would rather talk to me than a lot of her other friends.  We talk about everything.  If she wants to talk about Rick, I always let her talk, whether it's good memories, being angry or sad or scared, or even resentful that all their plans for the future were stolen away.  It's not uncomfortable because we're both honest.  She said some friends tried to make it seem like everything was going to be fine, either now, or at some predetermined time frame when the grief should lessen, when that is NOT true.  She felt like she would make them uncomfortable if she let her anger and grief show, when they are such normal emotions.  You will know when to let her talk, and when she would prefer quiet, just having a friend close.

I lubs that AndiPants starts the noo Club wiff a seasonal pome. I guess today was warm for November in Wiskconsin but it’s bin gray and windy as normill.

I got to go in the car this mornnk for a vary short ride to the forrist! :offwall I trot along so fast Mistress can barely keep up then STOP to sniff and she run into me and say mean thins about how bad and rood I am and how I’m going to kill her then what will happin to me.  I had a good time despite her complanin. Then of course she did more werk in the yard. She says this is the last of it. She mowered this time and our front yard looks juss as good at the freeks who pick up every leaf every day. The back yard is a different story. There’s juss too many booshes and the leafs all get stuck in the fents, but it’s good enuff for us. She sucked the last of the gasoline oudda the mower with a turkey baster and tucked it away for winter.

Ah, I see everybuddy elts also thot Andi & Flizzie were gonna get to sleep on the bottom bunk too but Miss Chris says no.  We lubed the story of the arctic fox! Poor leddle thin, she’s got a great home now tho. That’s a good leddle zoo. Oregun sends lotsa aminals to Wiskconsin I theenk. The last cougar at Mistress zoo was a orfan from there as is Aldo the numpty black bear.

Oh yeah, there’s a whole thin wiff pet sknuks. They breed em for all kindsa colors and patterns. It’s not rite I theenk, they are not domestic aminal.

Mistress is gonna cleen up the kitschen then I get supper!

Great Aunt Lucy used to send her nieces letters to her back to them with any grammar deficiencies corrected in red pen.   Ma was sort ob grateful that Aunt Lucy was blind by the time Ma was learning to write.  She did feel the hems ob liddle girls' dresses when they visited to discern whether their skirts were too short. Unless they really shocked her by wearing pants. :D

Lovely quilt :)

Do you say 'Woooman' or 'Wimen'  ;)

I too am wondering how Bitzi ear is doing !?

And we have not heard from Sherrie - although I've seen a couple of recent FB posts.

And no word from Kerry & Lupin Since her Dad passed away  :dunno

In spite of the thermometer reading 'Plus 8' I found today to be rather ccchilly.  The sun never did make an appearance and there was a brisk westerly wind.

Patty & I rode indoors with Shelley and she once again challenged both our brains with a new exercise.  It will be a work in progress!   Then I sat and watched several other outdoor rides.  Probably why I got chilled.

Widge was a good boy - wish I had taken a picture of the lovely mane/tail braids done by one of the teens.  He has developed an intermittent little cough which we will have to keep a very close eye ear on.  I have some Lung Flush here and we'll start him on it tomorrow.

Edited to show this pic of the two youngest riders and their ponies with Shelley.
