Su has figured out how to text me

Recommended Posts

Texts from boyfriend yesterday morning: 1) "Su is crying"; 2) "Su is crying again"

First text today: "Su came into the bedroom crying"

My office is upstairs and our bedroom is downstairs. BF always sleeps in very late, like 2-3 PM late, but likes to have the bedroom door open. Clearly Su has learned to use this to her advantage. If she doesn't feel like coming upstairs to let me know she wants something, she just goes into our bedroom downstairs and whines to BF. Sleepy BF, not wanting to come upstairs either, then texts me with Su's request.

So my dog is sending me texts via dictation!

That sounds like a broodie trick.  Is Su a broodie by chance?

No, not a broodie. She was one of our “two yutes” adopted right after they turned 3 yrs old. She was the baby of the family for over a decade, just following the other dogs’ lead. Those dogs have “aged out” ☹️ and Su is now an only dog.

I think she is finally recognizing the power she has always had at her command. To paraphrase the song, “I am biotch; hear me whine!”

Um....why should a greyhound expend energy to climb stairs? She has a perfectly good human right there!  Your pup is very smart!

  • 2 weeks later...

Greyhounds are so smart! They may fool you sometimes with unimportant things(like getting their treat out of the water bowl it dropped in) but when it comes to the important stuff like texting and like getting what they want on demand-they are genius :flip
