Our old ladies

Recommended Posts

It isn’t cold here, but Tasty Kitty has decided she needs a little extra warmth. Not sure how much she’s getting from skinny Sunita, but Su is Tasty’s favorite snuggle Buddy.

Our ladies are getting older.  Su is now 12 & Tasty is, well, we aren’t sure and she’s not telling, but she’s well into her teens.

That brings back happy memories of my Labrador and the cat. They would sleep together against the radiator and dog would give the cat a lick if the cat sneezed. When the cat was older the dog would help her chase other cats from the garden and on bonfire night the pair of them would both want to go outside to sit in the garden and watch the fireworks.

Tasty Kitty has figured out the prime snuggle real estate -- her entire back is cradled in warmth, plus she feels that wonderful pound pound pound of Sunita's strong greyhound heart.

Even their colors coordinate.

“Tasty Kitty” one of the best names ever :lol

Indeed, especially in the home of a sighthound.

Yes, that would be how she got the name. When she first showed up she followed us on walks. Venus, my “cat workable” Greyhound was not yet safe with outdoor cats. She most of our 1 mile route walking backwards hoping to taste the cat behind us. BF said it would be like us being followed by a chocolate cake.

Su is a sharp contrast. She tolerates everyone & nearly everything. She’ll chase a lure but won’t bite it when it stops. Su is the gentlest, friendliest dog I’ve ever had. That’s why I failed fostering her. :D Wow, that was just over 9 years ago.
