SkellysPet Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Hi everyone! We noticed a thin clear slimy string of vaginal discharge this morning. Haven't seen this before and wanted to know if anyone has experienced this and if it is something we can monitor at home or of we should take her to the vet. Our lovely grey is 5 years old and was spayed around 7 months ago. She doesn't have any difficulty peeing/accidents and haven't seen any excessive licking or blood in her urine either. Quote
ShebasMom Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Sheba has the same thing from time to time. I consider it some sort of mucus and just wipe it off. Others might have different advice or concerns. Quote
greysmom Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 It can indicate a UTI or bacterial infection, so it may need to be seen by a vet if it persists or becomes smelly or changes color. Otherwise, just use a baby wipe to clean her after every potty session. Houndtime Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 Shine did occasionally, too. It was nothing. I would worry if it continues or increases. Potomacpupsmom Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Our first grey had that occasionally too. Just a clear discharge. Cleaned her off with a baby wipe. She had no issues and the vet was not concerned.
