Photos of it here

I just found this sore on my dogs neck yesterday but he wouldn’t let me get a proper look at it until today. It looks greasy because it has ointment on it

It looks like it was bigger from the missing fur surrounding it and there’s what seems like bruising. It picked up on camera but it’s very hard to see in person

He was at the vet three weeks ago to get neutered but the anaesthesia was applied in his leg and they shaved the fur there so could this be an infection from a blood draw of something?

Since then he hasn’t been around any other dogs and I live in an urban area so he gets walked in parks on pathways not in any bushland and it winter in Australia so not tick season

It seems to be healing fine but the blue in the photo freaked me out and worried me a bit

Does anyone know what this could be?

The blue could be bruising. Might be worth a phone call to your vet to see if they injected a sedative into his neck before giving him the general anaesthetic?

There shouldn't still be an issue with an injection from three weeks ago.  This looks much more recent.  Definitely worth a call to the vet.  Could be a bug bite, a hemangioma, even a poke from his own toenail.
