I had tested the BiteNot c-collar on her before surgery and it looked like it would work. Nope. Then I used my angel Mazy's $8000 floppy cone from NC State Vet hospital and that worked for a while. Nope. Had to put her in some purkle bad girl panties even though they didn't match that blue cone. Nope, didn't work. I used my assorted magic potions and 1 benadryl in the hopes that would keep her calm all night. Nope. I tried to use a muzzle with a stool cup. Nope. She had a look of absolute terror on her face because, unlike our greyhounds, she'd never been subjected to one before. I just couldn't do it to her. We have now upgraded to an additional antibiotic and the cone of shame to keep her "socially distant" from her rear end.
