Thousands have admired her. She was so much more than 1 individual dog. Therapy helping people; super model; doting wife to Rocket; and especially BFF to all of her GT family. Her crossing over is profound on many levels. Of course she & Rocket are together as is fitting. It does make me happy to think how happy they are. I am sure she will always be a presence not just here on GT but in my life. I so admire her-she did it right. And I will never forget the Rocket-Lexie romance and marriage which it was a blessing to be a part of. They both had so much love-not only for each other-but for all of us as well. Love is energy like everything else and cannot be destroyed even by death. Only her body died. The real Lexie is a very special spirit that I am sure will continue to be a presence. My all-time favorite is I think your grandmother or mother's hat -- with the little birdcage netting. Lexie looked so beautifully 40's chic in it. It's appropriate for her to be called the Queen of GreyTalk, because she must have been related to the hat-loving British royal family ladies. Maybe, if you feel up to it, you could sometime arrange a retrospective montage of her most memorable hats? I also enjoyed each year's celebration of combined Christmas and Hanukkah, with Lexie's kind spirit shining out of her beautiful eyes. And the little toofers just showing. I never knew the story of her emergence from extreme shyness but I am so glad she was able to blossom and help people in her unique greyhound way. Having lost a dog suddenly this summer, in less than 5 minutes, I know how utterly shattering that is, even when you knew it was likely coming soon. My heart breaks for you, but it was her way of taking the decision out of your hands and going on her terms. You asked for favorite memories of Lexie. I would say mine would be the wedding, of course, but also the many many MANY pictures of her posing with food and in hats over the years. You and I actually were facebook friends for a while after a June a few years ago when you did a photo contest for her birthday celebration. (Her 10th, maybe?) I just loved her in the hats, and hearing the stories of her therapy dog exploits. The hat pictures also reminded me of BowWow Bonnets, a wonderful lady we lost a few years ago, who once sent me a couple of hats for my Robin's therapy dog work.
