Taking out the trash wears a girl out. Update Post 9

Recommended Posts

Taking it out of the can, that is. :rotfl

I went out for a few minutes to pick up something from a neighbor.  I was gone maybe 10 minutes.  When I came back I found this:

The culprit is now worn out and resting. (Foster Kate) :beatheart

Don't want to worry you, but after much experimentation and purchases of different trash cans and :riphairthe only way to keep dear Eve out of the trash was to put it behind a firmly closed and latched door.

How are Petunia and Kate getting along?

This is recent behavior with the trash cans.  She also likes to go shopping in the recycling bin. I actually just put the can in the pantry which has a pocket door.

Petunia and Kate are really good together although Petunia has started trying to push Kate out of the way when she is getting pets from one of us.  I think there may be a little bit of jealousy going on.

Psssst, Kate, all you have to do is hide the evidence - by eating it.  That's what I would do, given the chance.  Mean parents keep it hidden away in the house,  but I am laser-focused on things on the ground when out for walks.  "Leave it" ... hah!  You want it, pry my mouth open!

UPDATE - Apparently if your human hides the trash, you escalate to counter-surfing.  She had dinner 5 minutes before she did this.  Apparently the waiter never brought the bread basket.

Um, no she isn't. You've already broken her (by letting her learn bad habits) so you have to keep her.

She's got good taste, that's pretty much the only grocery store bread I like.

There is a pic here somewhere of when Seamie was brand new and I resorted to putting a brick on top of the trash can  Just sayin.

As to the bread, where is the butter? :lol

Love those girls!

Me too.  Toast tastes like home made bread using that.

Blasphemy - Seamie could do no wrong.

I was outside long enough to pickup 2 poops (is that an official measuring unit?)  Had I been any longer the butter dish was right next to that bread. I swear that she was in the house by herself for under a minute when she stole the loaf of bread.

Haha! Those crazy black greys, I have a trash attackker too! Newspaper is his favorite, tho.

My cat Archie hadn't attacked a loaf of bread in a good long while--until I brought home that Artesano bread!

Oh, dear!  Lola learned to press the button on the lid to open the old trash can so we bought a locking one. Enter Jenny who, frustrated that she could not open the can, dragged it by the edge of the trash bag into the dining room in protest.  <sigh>

Clearly you are not feeding that poor girl enough! Or maybe she is just looking for an upgrade. I know you have Uber Eats... :D

We've expanded our horizons since you were here.  I used Door Dash for the first time last night. Better selection of restaurants than Uber.

I think the broodie is starting to come out in this girl.  2 broodies in one house - I'm ordering surveillance cameras. :lol

I had a kitty long years ago now who would gnaw thru bread wrappers just like that. Just bread,  nothing else.

Our boy Copper once took a whole bag of Thanksgiving dinner rolls out of a grocery bag.  By the time I got to that bag and realized the dinner rolls weren't in it, he had the living room covered in crumbs and plastic wrap, and all 12 dinner rolls were gone!!  Needless to say, yard cleanup was interesting for a few days!
