Hubcitypam Posted March 23, 2019 Share Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) That was the farm owners granddaughter...and it wasn't in Abilene now that I think about it but a farm in Western Oklahoma near Altus...the farm owner was named Jim. I went to pick up Piper, a 4 month old puppy with a deformed leg that belonged to a syndicate and was on a lease farm. The story has been shared before but this huge burly man in overalls wrote me a personal check for $50 and with tears in his eyes said "you go buy that puppy some food". It wasn't even his dog. and that was about half a month's lease payment. Believe that was in 2001.
