karen_giddings
does anyone know where i can get a backend harness for a greyhound? i ordered one from chewy - but it's really made for the standard dog and doesn't fit ace very well. i need one that is more specifically tailored to a grey's physique. thanks! karen
FiveRoooooers
The Help Em Up harness has worked very well for my seniors. Quote Old Dogs are the Best Dogs. Thank you, campers. cleptogrey
Ruffwear, worked for Felix. You can also use a towel or modify a canvas bag. You have handles, just line with a towel. I found that towards the end Felix really needed our restraint going down a flight of stairs even more than help going up.
Time4ANap
The Help Em Up harness allows you to customize the harness fit for male dogs with different pieces depending on how far forward the boy part sits. This is so that the harness doesn't interfere with urination and doesn't smash anything that shouldn't be smashed when the harness is picked up. I did find the harness to be kind of heavy, but it is also solid. Quote Camp Broodie. The current home of Mark Kay Mark Jack and Gracie Kiowa Safe Joan. EllenEveBaz
I got a custom-made harness for Nutmeg from the God's Greyts Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/listing/225448995/greyhound-assistance-harness?ref=shop_home_active_5 She wore it 24/7 her last months and it never bothered her. Very lightweight -- at first I thought it would not hold up well, but it was sturdy and made things so much easier for Nutmeg and for me. I could easily support almost her whole weight with one hand.
