When we returned from our western trip, like Argos in the Odyssey he passed shortly after our return. I thank my daughter and her husband for their love and TLC during his last rally. Yes, felix rallied big time, chowed down like a king (home cooked gourmet meals prepared by DD) and enjoyed his canine company. Darn kidney disease, darn lyme and anaplasmosis. He fought them like a champ for close to 2 years. Ironically Felix passed the same day, 12 years later that he was rescued, along with his littermates, from the farm. I thank all the volunteers who fed and groomed, tolerated and loved this crazy boy around the clock. It does take a village to raise a dog! He was a beautiful boy and we will think of him often since we have one of your portraits of him in our living room that we bought at Dewey. He and Rocket had very similar "ear functions" and the portrait reminded us so much of Rocket and his crazy ear positions that we had to have it. Run free, Felix. That is really helping with closure.this has been a long drawn out process of multiple lyme diseases leading to quirky kidney disfunction and ultimately his desmise. We looked back and is ph was acidic nearly 2 years ago, crit started climbing 1.5 yrs ago. My vet couldn't believe he wasn't seizing or barfing over a year ago, that boy had drive and then some. Normally we buy our dogs in our yard, but being in Texas, not ny currently makes that impossible. It's a lovely urn, I think I might just keep it in the van. Felix has ALWAYS LOVED ROAD TRIPS!!!
