Trying To Vomit After Running

Recommended Posts

I can't tell if my girl is experiencing bloat or not. She will run around in circles for a few moments then stop. Her breathing gets harsh and she starts gagging but nothing comes up. I don't normally feed her anything, except a few tiny treats for good behavior, when we go outside in the morning because I know she wants to run around. It seemed after she caught her breath the gagging went away. Should I forgo all treats in the morning to avoid this? Or is it possibly just from running when it's so cold? It's currently 35°F

My bet is coughing from the cold air, but without seeing it, it's just a guess. See if you can grab a video in case your vet needs to see it.

Also, here's a reference chart for bloat to print out. We keep ours on the refrigerator. Be sure to write the numbers for your vet and your Emergency Vet at the top.

Grace does the same sometimes but it's not always after running around and I wonder if it's the same as when we get a bit of food caught in our throat and she's trying to clear a bit of treat crumb, fluff etc?

It is more likely that she is coughing.

Kennel cough in my dogs sounded as if the wanted to get rid of something from far behind their throat. Did realize it when all of them where making vomiting noises. Highly unlikely that three dogs at a time have something stuck in their throat a whole night long.
