Batmom Posted October 25, 2018 Share Posted October 25, 2018 Star aka Starz Ovation 9/28/2008 – 10/24/2018 My funny little munchkin, my wedge-head, my wildebeest, my boon companion and Coco’s and Grammy’s too. We nearly lost her two years ago to a sudden heart ailment. Her heart was damaged and, though she did well, we always thought we would lose her to that. We lost her to bone cancer instead. She came to us after a long racing career, through LaDonna Hampton and Greyhounds Only. Happy, wiggly, glossy, plump, she was the only one who didn’t try to jump on wobbly Grammy. She jumped up to hug and kiss everyone else, but never Grammy. She earned her CGC and a nosework title. She lifted her leg to pee and could outmark anybody. She loved toys and visitors and sunbeams. She loved chasing chipmunks and squirrels and play-racing with Coco. She loved for the neighbor kids to pet her and give her a treat. She loved food. She was smart and confident and tough. I do not know what our lives can be without her. She was ours and we were hers. In her honor, will you give your dog a treat today? Share a steak. Dish out ice cream. Throw the ball an extra time. Go smell new smells and pee on new things. Rub a tummy or an ear for as long as you can. Share your joy in each other and your love. There is time for that. It is never enough. Rest well, Star. You made so great a difference. So many years have passed since my posting of a little sweetheart we had in our group and you were so much help to me. I will never forget it. Bless you for all the love you've given your pups over the years and the wonderful home they had with you and Grammy. Your sweet one will be at your side forever, watching over you both now.
