'nixon' - June 15 2005 To February 15, 2018

I did not make 'Nixon' a proper remembrance thread back in February.

Just couldn't do it :(

He was 12 years, 8 months when we sent him off on his final journey, taking a chunk of my heart with him.

:brokenheart

Today my boy would have turned 13.

I miss him so very much and tears are flowing as I type.

Nixon was the best of the best and gave so much joy to so many.

He was certified as a St John Ambulance TD in April 2011 and aced the very difficult 'test with children' in May 2012.

Between 'our' long term care home, reading with 'our' third graders and de-stressing high school, college and university students Nixon made 249 TD visits. He retired from service with dignity in March of 2017.

We were so sorry to see him go. He really accomplished a lot here on earth. I bet he's still busy "up there".

Relax Nixon. Enjoy yourself!

Tick here: I really miss you, big guy. I'll see you sometime - Mama hopes it's not too soon!

Nancy, I remember when Nixon came home with you, starting you on your greyhound journey. He was such a big part of your life and your heart, for so long.

I'm sure he's running and playing with his friends, still visiting his old folks, now made as young as he is! Waiting until everyone can be reunited once again!

It hurts these anniversaries.....but not to feel grief is to forget, which will never happen...they are always in our hearts.

Remembering Nixon

Run free our beloved Sir Snowy, Pip, Queenie, Sadie, Tess & Rosie until we meet again......I would rather feel the thorn than to never see the rose
