lukasmom
Yesterday my hound Carter was not by his hound sister Neko. I think she was on her bed with a cookie she didn't eat and he must of stood over her to grab the cookie. Angry barking and what I found later was a bite on his chest. I took him to the vet and he needed a few staples and they have him 2 antibiotics. Vetprofen 75 mg.twice a day for 3 days and 2 Clavamox 250mg. twice a day for 14 days .I read on this site that Clavamox can cause upset tummys and it seems like Pepcid is used to help with this. Can I give Pepcid twice a day. I am using regular strength Pepcid. At least my vet bill was not bad, no emergency walk in charge, wound cleaning, staples, exam, two meds for $206. ramonaghan
Sorry about the bite! Hope Carter feels better soon. Yes, Pepcid can be given twice a day. I give a 10mg Pepcid 30-60 min before a meal or snack, then give the Rx meds on a full belly. JohnF
Random bites like that over food are so common. One only has to drop it for the other to pick it up immediately. Get well soon Carter. The Pepcid will prevent you getting sore linings.
Dave_P
Price sounds good, for what you got. I had my other dog in for annual shots, and 4 days of boarding, and it was surprisingly low: $150.
juliemac
How's Carter doing today? I'm so sorry sweetie!
lukasmom
Doing well, thank you. Site looks good. No issues with the antibiotics so far. Called the clinic about the staple removal. This clinic does not take appointments. All walk ins. I have never seen this before but works for me.
