Guest Ruizu Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Hi My 14 year old has started wetting his bed at night. We know it is urine because it is yellow and smells badly. I am considering getting him washable diapers. I do not mind having to put them on him every night, if that is what is needed. He does drink a lot- should I be worried? Could he have an infection? Is it difficult to fit a sighthound with diapers, due to their body structures? He has a 20 inch waist. Edited August 4, 2017 by Ruizu Quote
macoduck Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Has he had a vet visit with a fresh morning catch of urine tested? Neighsayer Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 You can use a belly band on a male. Easier fit than diapers, and easier to keep on. You can put disposable pad inside or folded cloth diapers. Quote

juliemac Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Vet first. And belly bands to deal with the symptoms. (I have no boys right now, but always keep some belly bands within reach for visitors ... especially at Christmas when my tree goes up). Quote
smurfette Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 (edited) Had this problem with Colin who is 13. Took a sample to the vet and we found out he has chronical kidney insufficience due to old age. He gets some holistic medicine based on solidago and is much better now. Let the vet check blood and urine. Increased drinking without readon (like stealing a big fat ham at grandma's) is always a hint that something is not right. Thank you for posting this info. People write to me and ask for belly bands. I don't make them, right now, anyway. I was recommending HOT and they went out of the business. Now I have a good resource. They look very nice and seem well made.
