Guest greymama002
Pulsar was our first greyhound and absolutely the perfect dog for us. We were so lucky to have more than 8 years together and so many cherished memories to treasure. He adored his walks, in every season, rain, snow, or sunshine, right up to the very end. Just seeing one of us walk toward the leashes, he'd be off his bed and over to the water bowl to stock up for marking. Then he'd rush over snouting me with his snouty snout while getting leashed. He especially loved walking on trails in the woods with all their wondrous smells, and never left the seashore without leaving a deposit on a pile of seaweed. When we first got the dog pen, he discovered the joys of running laps and digging holes. On sunny days, he would work on his tan, lying first on one side, then rolling over to get the other. Then he'd head to a nice cool hole, then back to sunning. He was the quiet leader of our pack, showing Ruffie and Misti how to be good greyhounds. They always followed his lead, and he would use that to his advantage when one of them was on his favorite bed. He would get up and walk toward the kitchen like he needed to go out, and they would follow him into the kitchen. Then while they went outside, he'd sneak back to the living room & steal the bed he wanted. His favorite bed was the one with the best view of the kitchen, so he wouldn't miss out on any possible opportunities for treats! The only thing I actually ever saw him steal was a lick from my black coffee if left within his reach, but when Daddy's bag of PayDay bars went missing & empty wrappers found, he was the only dog whose poo was 90% peanuts the next day! He was always such a good sport, letting me dress him up in holiday bandanas and costumes for the Greyhound reunions, which was also one of the few times I ever heard him bark. He would lean into you with the best greyhound hugs and gaze at you with his heartshaped face and soulful eyes. Pulsar, we salute you for a life well-lived; just 3 weeks short of 14 and a half years old. But no matter how much time you get, it's never enough! We'll love you forever, our sweet old man!
