Aiden: The Toe Is G O N E

Aiden, you'll be much happier with the offending toe gone. You won't miss it at all and be able to careen around the yard without a care!

Did I maybe miss the thread (if a new one was started) of our little patient? How is he? Or is it this Friday?

Thanks again to everyone for the good vibes. Aiden's surgery is now in three sleeps, which is how I've been explaining to him what's going to happen. We will post an update as soon as we can. *Thanks*

Aiden is through surgery. The toe amp went beautifully. We decided to leave his molars for now, so a major clean up without extractions is what he got. I will pick him up around 6:30p. On my way to the store now for his ice cream. Thanks friends for the support, so very much appreciated.

How is Aiden this morning?

Aiden is doing well! Last night was kind of rough, he was loopy and understandably didn't want to use his limb, but he took his meds and settled down for the night. This morning he ate well, went for several turnouts and is so much brighter and coming 'round to hisownself. He's going to be fine! He has a bandage change and suture removal toward the end of the week, I'm anxious to see how the site looks (I think I am :lol ).

Thanks for checking in on the young'un

How is little 15 toes doing? Hopefully his healing is swift.

Had to take one of mine in last week for a non-toe related injury & saw another Greyhound person I'd not seen in a good while. I joked that if we were going to run into each other it would more than likely going to be at the vet's office. :lol Was unsurprised to find out that her Grey was there with a toe injury.

My daughter's lurcher had a toe removed. Recovery took a little time, but now you would never know (except his foot looks kind of odd, lol). He is back to jogging several miles a day and is a happy happy boy without that pesky toe!

Hope he is feeling better.

Hope your peanut is ok? It's funny, not in the :hehe sense, but at the vet's office is where we run into our favorite people too. Thanks for asking about Aiden. 15 toes :lol

This is encouraging, and thanks for asking about Aiden. He is doing really well. The first night and next day were the most uncomfortable for him but every day since has been a nice improvement. He is now five days post-op, using that right front foot just about 100% and back to his bright, silly, happy self. The first bandage change is tomorrow. I misspoke to someone else, the sutures are not being removed then - that will be in another 5-7 days. He is so tired of leash walks.

Hi, I know I'm new here but wanted to share that my Annie girl had three toes on her back right paw.

It was not a hindrance for her as she raced for some time after they performed the surgery and it healed.

Never knew it was a bother to her other than a slight turn of her leg (to the right) when walking.

Hope all goes well.
