demismom Posted February 19, 2018 Share Posted February 19, 2018 Thank you very much for your replies. I just got off the phone with Dr. Jenifer Barker in Wisconsin. She asked me to call her after she received my email asking for a consultation. She said it was a pathologic fracture, clean break, clear as day and obvious. She could not fathom how the vet didn't see it. Then, she told me the pain meds were not close to being properly dosed. Because of her age and her back issues Dr. Barker said there was nothing to do but keep Demi comfortable tonight and take her in tomorrow morning to be put to sleep. Thanks for your time. If all is clear and I don't get completely scared off by the consent process, she will go back in early Friday morning. If she has side effects, they will keep her over night, if not, I'll pick her up and we'll spend the rest of the weekend at Ed's. There was a death in the family of someone involved in the shipping of the vaccine. Clinics may have a delay in receiving it this week, so the clinic where I'm taking Bowie pushed back everyone to next week. Now I have another week and a half to stew over it. seeh2o Posted February 28, 2018 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Not to give false hope, but sometimes lumps are benign. One of my dogs (not-grey) had a very hard marble sized lump on her neck. I was sure it was cancer. It wasn't, we left it alone and she lived her days with it. She lived to be 15 and passed from old age. Carl, my first greyhound, had some lumps and bumps, too.
