brandimom
Has any one had a gh that was diagnosed with a nasal tumor? Any info would be appreciated. I have done my research and found an article on it by the National Canine Cancer Foundation. Thank you

tbhounds
Many nasal tumors are responsive to radiation. I have seen wonderful results with both dogs and cats after SRS (stereotactic radiosurgery). Has this been diagnosed via a ct scan?

IndyandHollyluv
Yes. I lost my heart dog Indy to nasal cancer in 2010 (he was 12-1/4). I know I posted about this but it's been awhile. Started out with a little blood dripping from his right nostril. During his next dental, the vet scoped and biopsied the nasal cavity and tissue but all came back inconclusive. Indy was doing okay for quite a while -- about 1 yr -- then not so much. Any time he sneezed, shook his head - there was blood. I assumed it was cancer - and it was. Took him for a CT scan which revealed the mass in his right nostril. When Indy started to sleep with his head vertical - I knew it was time. Vet offered palliative care but there was no point in allowing him to languish and suffer. I did not want to wait until the mass reached his eye or brain (which would be awful) -- so I bid him a sorrowful and sweet goodnight. Happy to answer any questions you may have. Hugs. brandimom
Baker will see primary vet tomorrow and do nasal scope and perhaps ultrasound/x-ray. Depending on what results we get tomorrow we will get a referral over to the specialist and have CT done. Thank you everyone for your responses. brandimom
Positive update on Baker. He has nose mites and will get a shot for it. Taking our other dog in today since she has been exposed and will get her a shot too. Now I need to notify everyone that has done a M & G with him that their gh has been exposed.
