Lizzie Dog Update - Coming Home From The Hospital

If all goes well today Lizzie can come home from the hospital! The vet thinks that she either has a spinal cord injury or some kind of cancer, so the path forward is unknown, but we're going to keep her comfortable for as long as possible. Her 11th Birthday is June 21, her 8 and a half gotcha day is August 11, I feel fortunate to have had her in my life for as long as I have and I will be beyond fortunate if I can celebrate these milestones with her, but she is calling the shots now.

 

I have a new found appreciation for the folks who work at the e-vet. They are great with the dogs and the people. I talked to the doctors twice a day, got updates whenever I called, and was even allowed to visit at 2 am when I couldn't sleep.

 

I'll post a cute and funny story about her later today.

Lizzie passed last night. I woke up and she was having trouble getting up. By the end of the day she wasn't getting better, and I made the hard decision. She's running free with Gigi now. I miss her so much.
