Hey Wait, That's Not A Greyhound!

looks like a miniature short legged racing greyhound to me. check his ears for tattoos. their speed is amazing, yer greys may be surprised when he catches one of them. he may be holding back to lure them into a false sense of security.

I love this!

Turns out she's probably incontinent - we were relaxing on the sofa for a couple hours - she hardly moved the whole time - and I found a puddle under her rear. Didn't look like she had any idea it had happened. I'm calling he vet tomorrow about proin and hopefully we can get some (because I don't think she'd stand for doggy diapers). I bet that's why her previous people put her out...

Went to the vet today for the incontinence and had her chest X-ray done while we were there. Her heart is enlarged, so we've been referred to a specialist for an ultrasound. She is incontinent, but can't be on Proin because it can affect the heart, so he put her on some estrogen pills to see if that helps. Poor little dear... Not sure where I'll find the money for the ultrasound (I have a go fund me going, but I'm not sure it'll amount to anything) but she needs it, so... :(

How is she doing?

She's good! We're getting the incontinense under control. I cancelled her cardiologist appointment - they quoted me anywhere from $325-$875 and I just can't afford that. I asked for a referral to the closer specialist who the vet said was "only" $300 for a visit/ultrasound. Haven't heard back from him but I'm giving him till the new year - I figure the holidays are a it crazy.

I'm also pretty sure she has the start of doggie dementia. She does well for the most part, but she's gotten stuck in corners and spends a lot of time staring blankly off into the distance. She's also GLUED to her routine - if it changes even slightly, she's a mess. She's restless at night (it's gotten better now that she's crated - at first she wasn't and spent quite a while pacing my room). She starts getting weird around 5pm and continues to be weird until bed time when she goes in her crate (which I believe is her safe space, much like a greyhound). Then she's fine in the morning. She has a bunch of the typical signs. I thought about giving her some supplement, but decided not to. She'll just be happy for as long as she's happy!

On the other hand, she's super sweet, loves cuddles (though I did have to buy her a slumber ball so she'd get off the sofa :lol), is finally playing with toys (but prefers to mouth my arm)... She's darling :)
