If you've ever seen Dr. Stack's article on the thumb test for LS Dr. Herron was the one to invent it. In addition he raised and raced greyhounds. A lot of his dogs had the "Dox" prefix. Susie McQuade of GALT had his Dox Bob Wire....Michael R. Herron December 31, 1940 – August 28, 2015 Michael R. Mike” Herron DVM, BS, MS, Dipl., A.C.V.S, 74, of College Station, he found peace on Friday August 28, 2015. A time for family to receive friends will be from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home of College Station. Mike was born on December 31, 1940 to Jeff and Clara (Bolton) Herron in Evansville Indiana. He graduated from FJ Reitz High School in Evansville Indiana, and attended George Washington University (BS), Purdue University (DVM, MS), and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 1972. Mike was a member of Wellborn Lions Club and the Texas Knives Collectors Association (TKCA). He loved collecting pocket knives and was an avid reader of mystery and intrigue novels. Michael (Doc) was a proud Eagle Scout and Professor Emeritus Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine and the department of Small Animal Medicine.
