Guest jetska
I would try making a noise before opening the back door so the cat gets the hint to leave? Does orange cat even see your hound as a threat? If the garden is well planted the cat should be able to escape but that doesn't allay your fears about your girl hurting herself. In my experience greyhounds do get used to their own cats, and I made sure that mine had supervised outside time with the cats as well to ensure that we had no yard accidents. Mouse was never tested by anyone else, as she was my foster and I did the cat testing. I thought she could go either way initially and sometimes she does chase the cats just to get my attention, but she means no harm nowadays. Mine both stare and stalk cats that we see out on walks, and Barbie sometimes will bark at them if they suddenly appear close to us, just to make them run! But I 100% trust them with their own kitties.
