Guest onboarderror
So my wife was toweling off the dog after her bath all over and my grey started to yelp as if her tail was stepped on.. she cried for about a minute and then stopped. As soon as she yelped we stopped toweling her off but she kept crying. She seems to be fine now and I can touch her anywhere without signs of pain... Is this something to be concerned over or just her being a drama queen? Is this a vet trip?
Guest Amber
Could be drama, i probably wouldn't go to the vet unless she showed more signs of pain in the future.
Guest MurphysMom
I'm going to go with drama queen. Our girl screams like crazy for seemingly unimportant things.. the other day we lifted the cat across the couch, over Murphy's head, and Murphy screamed and yelped and cried until the cat was no longer above her. She screamed when I told her to get off the bed. She screamed when my husband told her to get out of the trash. She screamed when her foot sunk between the couch cushions. Greyhound Screams of Death are a very real thing, and I bet if you google it you'll see videos of greyhounds making very similar noises to your girl. Do you have pics of her? macoduck
When toweling, was it the same part of the body that made her yelp? Neck? Back? Any similar yelps when getting up or down? NeedlenoseJake
Jake actually nipped my husband last time he was toweling him off, so it's air dry for us now! By the way- gorgeous hound! Fruitycake
Maybe she didn't like the being roughed up with a towel? Hair roughed the wrong way? Although it could be just that, like our long-haired dog, she just dislikes towels for some reason. Al gets all growly and grumpy and snarly when you even just pet her in the hair direction lightly with a towel or even towel 'hand mitts' - even though she loves that kind of roughing up with just hands. *shrug*

Thanks for the responses guys and gals... I feel much better.
