Which Way Of Spaying Is Better-Traditional Or Laparoscopically

Recommended Posts

Tracy, we are going to see the Vet in Chicago next Wed to see if she is a candidate. Her ultrasound showed normal size uterus and bladder. I really think we are dealing with SIPS. The office already told us it's always a possibility when starting laparoscopic, it may have to turn into open spay.

I would be more inclined to say do just jump in and perform the traditional open abdominal spay. She's an older dog with a "history"--I'm old school-let them get a good look around--remember incisions heal side to side not length wise. Sure it will require a bit more cutting but, with proper pain management she should be able to be kept comfortable post op.
