Say Hello To Ginny (Weasley)

So, a little over a week ago I brought home my first Grey (yes I know I will be chastised for waiting so long to post pictures). Her name is Ginny (previously Astar Cool Jewel). She is 5 years old and was what my adoption group considered a "special needs hound." You see, she's not terribly fond of other pets, even other hounds and she just wants to at the little ones. So, she needs to be an only pet and as a result, its taken quite some time to get her placed (over 8 months). Of course, when I met her I absolutely fell in love and I knew she was the one. She's not fond of other dogs and, generally speaking, I'm not fond of other people so it works. I've determined that it's not so much that she doesn't like other dogs (she does fine with my friend's 3 hounds, for short periods of time) she just has a very low tolerance for BS. She's settling in quite nicely and seems to be thoroughly enjoying the pet life. Here's hoping things continue to go well.

She's beautiful! Welcome Ginny from Ginny, mom to Beau and Mindy from Florida. Our first two greyhounds were 5 when they came to us - the last one was 2.5. Big difference. I love my boy but the 5 year olds were a perfect age to come home with us. So good on you! I'm so glad you adopted her with her needs - they may change in time as she's used to being in your home and is confident it's her forever home. If not, you don't care so it's a match made in heaven. Lots of fun years together!
