Guest NikoMachiavelli
Multiple small masses in our 10 yr old boy's abdomen. Our options are to get a small sample by needle or go in surgically to biopsy. All to determine whether he's a good candidate for chemotherapy. Any idea what kind of costs were looking at with chemo? Likely grey-specific outcomes? What is our better option?
macoduck
Send all images and lab results to Dr Couto http://www.coutovetconsultants.com/for-ownersadopters/ The fee is $120. Well worth the money to have him review everything and offer treatment and biopsy suggestions to you and your vet. tbhounds
How were the masses found-radiographs or ultrasound?? Are the masses seen on an organ-spleen, liver...? If you haven't had an ultrasound done you may be able to obtain your sample via an ultrasound guided aspirate. PatricksMom
What's his overall health? I'm assuming you've run a recent urine/blood panel--how did things look? Charlies_Dad
Chemo itself is not that expensive, it's the blood tests that increase the total bill. Good thoughts for your boy and I second contacting Dr Coutu for advice.
