I am so sorry for your loss. It so hard when we don't know what to do to make them better. You were his best friend and gave him the gift to be at peace and pain free.

Thank you. We tried what we could, but it wasn't enough. When he started his random barking, but really didn't want anything, and was just walking around the house for hours, we knew it was him telling us that he was through. I did feel the peace when he passed in my arms. It just doesn't feel like it now:(

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

I've had to do it 5 times over the years.

It is a sad time - but the good memories remain.

I am so sorry for you as well. I am so very sad, continue to just cry, and am really trying hard to talk with my DH about those good times. The house is just a really different place, our other dogs clearly know he's gone, and our routine has changed. We all need to adjust to our new reality. Again, thank you:)

Run free sweet baby. :bighug:cry1:bighug

Thank you. What Gilby so loved was digging in a large dirt hole that he'd created in the back of our yard. He loved to run as well. But, we would watch him dig in that hole with his paws flinging dirt everywhere, and his tail just going round and round in circles. He had a huge grin on his face, and the look of "what??" when he came in the house with mud on every toe nail and very out of breath. He wasn't able to do anything he loved (except for getting a massage from mommy) for over a month. That was no life.

I'm so very sorry. It's incredibly hard when they're too young and you're not entirely sure why they have to leave.

Godspeed Gilby.

I'm so sorry. I think when you are living with the stress of trying to do what is best for a precious dog, it's all you think about, and it's so easy to second guess. But you understood him well, and loved him unconditionally, and your rational side knows that letting him go was the right decision. It's just so hard because your emotional side is feeling the pain of his loss, and missing him terribly. When your home is so empty, and even the other dogs are missing him, it makes that loss even more enormous. Give yourself time to grieve---and don't worry, there is no time frame. You have so many cherished memories that when the time is right, they will bring more smiles than tears.
