Guest Shermanator
Travel has developed a nasty rash near her lady bits and between her hind legs. Fortunately, my vet is open Sundays, so I can most likely get her in today. How do I keep her from licking? Here are my challenges: 1. She free feeds. I'd be concerned about a muzzle with a poop guard (and I don't have a poop gaurd.) 2. She has access to a dog door. An e-collar would not allow her outside 3. We're having a heat wave in Phoenix. Its going to be 95 today. I'm afraid if I put pants on her, she'll get too hot. Thanks for your thoughts! RedHead
Get some loose pajama pants (or something similar), cut a hole for the tail and put them on. I know it sounds silly but it works!! I always use clothing to protect wounds from licking, it is way less obtrusive than muzzles, cones, etc.
Guest Dancer
I too find clothing a fabulous trick for keeping the dogs from pestering injuries/rashes. Plus with Halloween coming - she will just be getting in the spirit of things a bit early
