TheFullHouse Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) We lost our beautiful boy this morning. He had been ill for a week, getting worse every day. Despite our vets best efforts, his liver started failing causing him to become jaundiced this morning. He was in pain and ready to go, so with tears in our eyes and promises of all the Peeps he can eat waiting for him at the bridge, we let him go. We preadopted Bullitt shortly after his birth in 1995. He never ran a race but raced his way right into our hearts. He came home at 20 months of age and was such a joy to have. He loved everyone he met and accepted every dog who joined the family through the years. He was such a strong and courageous dog. He was diagnosed with kidney disease and high blood pressure a year and a half ago and pulled fought through that crisis. Two months ago he had surgery on his neck looking for suspected cancer and pulled through that. A month ago it was swelling and limping on a rear leg and he fought that. This last battle was just too much for him. Through tears his vet apologized to me this morning for not being able to pull Bullitt through this last fight. I hugged him and told him that he tried his best and thanked him for taking such good care of our boy. We will love you forever Bullitt. I know all your brothers and sisters were waiting for you this morning.
