I've tried to get all my ducks in a row so I can spend the worrying about how she'll do. - lab panel done 2 weeks ago - discussion with vet about Mazy's stress levels during storms (and we're having them today ) - discussion with vet about how long she pants after running in the yard. (much more than any of my other hounds) - heart check sounded good - have a printout of Mazy's vet notes from her spay from her adoption group - have a printout of the sedation meds used on all my previous hounds by this clinic (all worked well) - will be asking for extra visual monitoring post-procedure - have printed out Dr Stack's article on anesthesia - have permission to give Mazy one 100mg Trazodone for anxiety before I bring her in - I have to the whole day off of work, today and tomorrow Currently Mazy's giving me the stinkeye for forgetting her breakfast and iggy Charlie looks like he could gnaw my ankle off in his impatience. And she got to keep all her teeth. He is on antibiotics due to all the gum infection. He had a large skin tag removed from his side. Only one stitch, and I can't even see where it was. No interest in eating. I think she's just exhausted from the whole event. IIRC the vet said her sedation to extubation time was about 35 minutes.
